Super Secret Santa: Brown Sugar Scrub

brown sugar organic lip scrub with coconut oil, honey, and essential oils. strawberry extract used in pictured.

This scrub is amazing, just saying. I have been using various versions of this scrub for a while now, and it can be made with just about any combination of oil and exfoliant (like sugar). I hadn’t made it in a few months when I decided it would be an awesome DIY Secret Santa gift so I made this particular mix with strawberry extract and it was just divine! I almost forgot how amazing this was until I used this one on my skin the other day and the coconut oil and mild exfoliation really helped clear my skin up literally over night!

You can make this a lip scrub by using finer sugar, or if you want it a bit more heavy duty for the rest of your body then use larger granules. Obviously this is a pretty Secret Santa gift, but I promise I won’t judge if you keep it for yourself 😉

INGREDIENTS:

-6 tablespoons brown sugar
-2 tablespoons coconut oil
-2 teaspoons honey
-Essential oil or extract as desired (I used a few drops of Strawberry extract)
METHOD:
-Literally just mix everything up together and store in a pretty jar! If you need more than a few drops of your essential oil or extract, then just add in a little extra sugar to get it to the right consistency!
USE:
-Use as a body scrub and moisturiser in the shower by taking a small handful and rubbing into your skin, paying attention to rough patches such as elbows and knees. For greater moisturising, leave it on a little before rinsing off. If you naturally have oily skin, rinse off with your usual soap.
-Use as a lip scrub and moisturiser by gently rubbing a small amount onto your lips with your finger. Use a damp face cloth to gently rub in a circular motion before rinsing (or licking!… oops!) off!
Enjoy!
