5- Don’t be afraid to ask for help
This is another one I have been notoriously bad at, but it is sometimes a necessity. Simply put, if someone has more time, skills, or other resources that enable them to do a task more effectively, efficiently, or better than you, then it doesn’t hurt to ask. Of course, as I’ll cover in my number 1 point, make sure you’re not adding to the problems of the colleague or friend who can never say ‘No’ but if you know someone is in a position to help, then don’t sweat your pride. Most people don’t mind being asked to help as long as they know you’d be willing to do the same for them too, and it can always be a great way to start or improve relationships.
